Sri Lanka Tamil Media Alliance (SLTMA) held a commemorative lecture “Media Freedom in Post ~ War Sri Lanka” on 15th of May 2011 at Colombo Thamizh Sangam to pay tribute to Late Aiyathurai Nadesan and Late Sivaram Dharmeratnam (Taraki).

Head of political science and public policy, University of Colombo Dr.S.I.Keetha Poncalan delivered the key note address. President of Federation of Media Employees Trade Union (FMETU) Dharmasri Lankapeli too addressed the gathering.

Dazzling Chariots parade as Tamil New Year dawns in Jaffna

The annual chariot or cart festival of Arulmigu Sri Ambalavaana Vetha Vinaayagar Temple in Thaavady, Jaffna was held on 14th of April 2011, on கரா ~ “Kara” Tamil Hindu new year day. Arulmigu Sri Ambalavaana Vetha Vinaayagar Temple is also known as Thaavady Pillaiyar temple.

The greatest tunes and dances of Ceylon Kaffir released their maiden musical album ~ “Kaffir Sthrela”. THIDORA ~ Theatre Institute for Disability Oriented Research and Advocacy, Sri Lanka proudly presented ‘Kaffir Sthrela’ the maiden musical album of ‘Kaffir Manja’ of Siraambiyadi, Puttlam district in Sri Lanka. The album ~ “Kaffir Sthrela” was launched today at John de Silva Memorial Theatre in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
